like they’re just showing affection to each other and being happy but these guys felt the need to mock them. and i see it a lot, and it’s gross. it’s not funny.

IIIII don’t think this is misogyny at all. If anythings its about culture difference. These dudes look like counter culture guys. Band shirts, the hair, the look, all that. I think they’d do the same thing to some stereotypical bro picture. The girls in the picture represent what alot of people in counter culture see as a homogenous identity. An uninteresting one. A conformist one etc. Judging by the looks of all the girls it is an economically privileged one. It is using stereotype to generalize that these girls are well-off, boring, homogenous, mindless consumers, and culturally ignorant , yes, but I really don’t think this is about mocking women as a class for having a good time. This is not what women’s oppression is or looks like. If anything women’s oppression is more related to what creates the giant veil that is probably controlling the consciousness of everyone in this picture.
